Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Crusaders downed at New Hampshire

DURHAM, N.H. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team took on New Hampshire for game two of the series on Saturday night falling 2-0 in regulation.

BETWEEN THE PIPES:

  • Holy Cross: Abby Hornung (L, 2-4), 19 saves
  • New Hampshire: Sedona Blair (W, 6-5), 19 saves

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Neither team scored in the first period. Hornung made eight saves to Blair's seven.
  • In the second period, New Hampshire's Kira Juodikis scored at 2:51 to take the lead.
  • Late in the third period, the Crusaders pulled their goalie in hopes of tying the game but New Hampshire stole possession of the puck and scored an empty netter at 17:58 to ultimately take the 2-0 victory.
  • New Hampshire led Holy Cross 21-19 in shots on goal and 21-17 advantage in face-offs to conclude the game. 

UP NEXT: 

  • The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 2:00 pm. when they host Assumption for Family Day at the Hart Center Rink in Worcester, Mass. Following the conclusion of the game, the team will hold a post-game autograph session.
