CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Holy Cross men's tennis team competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association New England Regional at the Beren Tennis Center.
SINGLES ACTION:
• Freshman
Ezequiel De la Plaza was defeated by Nathan Mao of Cornell 6-0, 6-4 in the first round.
• In the qualifying draw, sophomore
Teddy Callery fell to Hikaru Takeda of Dartmouth (6-3, 6-1), while junior
Camilo Illanes lost to Elias Hoxha of Quinnipiac (6-3, 6-2).
CONSOLATION ROUND:
• In consolation play, junior
Patrick Ling was defeated by Gurustat Makkar of Niagara (6-2, 6-2), and Callery was downed by Sam Feldman of Brown (6-1, 6-4).
DOUBLES PLAY:
• Illanes and freshman
Will Donnelly fell to Rushil Khosla and Eric Verdes of Cornell 8-0 in the first round.
• Also in the first round, De la Plaza and sophomore
Matt Carlson were downed by Masato Perera and Benjamin Privara of Harvard 8-0.
