Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Women’s hockey split the weekend with Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team traveled to Boston College (BC) for game two of the series on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles took the 5-1 win over Holy Cross to split the series.

BETWEEN THE PIPES:

  • Holy Cross: Brooke Loranger (L, 3-2), 32 saves
  • BC: Grace Campbell (W, 2-2), 22 saves

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Eagles scored late in the first period by Kara Goulding at 19:19 to take the 1-0 lead over the Crusaders.
  • In the second period, Boston College converted on the power play at 11:27 scored by Abby Newhook. Holy Cross cut the lead in half with a goal netted by sophomore forward Reghan Chadwick at 17:13. She was assisted by fellow sophomore forward Lulu Rourke.
  • The Eagles had a dominant third period scoring three goals (one empty net) for the 5-1 win over the Crusaders.
  • Boston College led Holy Cross 37-23 in shots on goal and 31-23 in face-offs to conclude the game. 

UP NEXT: 

  • The Crusaders return to the Hart Center Rink for game one of two against Northeastern on Friday, Oct. 18 at 6:00 p.m.
