WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman guard
Kahlil Singleton scored 18 points on seven of 11 shooting from the field, as the Holy Cross men's basketball team earned a 65-63 victory over Boston University at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders improve to 6-16 overall and 3-6 in the Patriot League, while the Terriers fall to 8-14 on the season and 3-6 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Boston University started the game strong, jumping out to a 12-point lead (29-17) after the first 13 minutes of action.Â
• Holy Cross scored the next 10 points to trim the margin to two (29-27), and trailed by just four points (37-33) at the break.
• The Terriers held onto a small advantage early in the second half, and were up by seven (52-45) with 13 minutes left to play.
• The Crusaders then went on a 17-1 run over the next six minutes to go in front by nine (62-53), with Singleton scoring eight points during that time.
• Holy Cross then used outstanding defense down the stretch to hold on for the win, despite scoring just three points in the final seven minutes and hitting just one of four free throw attempts in the final 30 seconds.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• The Crusaders held the Terriers to just 36.7 percent shooting from the field, including a 25.8 percent mark in the second half.
• Holy Cross connected on 41.4 percent of its shots from the field and 46.7 percent of its three-pointers, while committing just seven turnovers.
• Senior guard
Bo Montgomery totaled 15 points and six rebounds on the night, while junior forward
Caleb Kenney added 12 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high seven blocked shots.
• Boston University was led by Miles Brewster with 13 points.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Kenney's seven blocks tied for the third-highest single-game total in school history, and the second-highest single-game mark in Hart Center history.
• As a team, the Crusaders finished the game with a season-high 10 blocked shots.
THE TURNPIKE TROPHY:
• Throughout the 2023-2024 academic year, Holy Cross and Boston University will be competing for the Turnpike Trophy.
• This athletic series between the in-state Patriot League rivals awards points for all head-to-head victories in both the regular season and postseason, with the Turnpike Trophy going to the school which accumulates the most points at the end of the year.
• Following tonight's games, this year's competition is now tied at 5-5.
