Hanson, Coker invited to 2024 NFL Combine

Right guard C.J. Hanson and wide receiver Jalen Coker from the Holy Cross football team have officially been invited to the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. The Combine will be held from Feb. 29 to March 3 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

More than 300 of the best college football players are invited to participate in the Combine. Top executives, coaching staffs, player personnel departments and medical personnel from all 32 NFL teams will be on hand to evaluate the nation's top college football players eligible for the upcoming NFL Draft in April.

This season, Coker had the most touchdown receptions in all of FCS during the regular season, with 15 on the year; his 1,040 receiving yards ranked fifth in the nation. He caught at least one touchdown in all but one game this season. He set a number of program records this year, with Coker's 15 touchdowns ranking as the most in single-season program history. In his Crusader career, Coker totaled 2,715 receiving yards and 31 touchdown receptions, both the most in school history. A finalist for the Walter Payton Award, Coker finished in the top 10 for voting — the only receiver to do so — and also became a three-time All-Patriot League selection and two-time All-New England honoree. He earned All-America honors from Stats Perform, the  Associated Press and FCS Football Central.

Hanson captained the Crusaders' elite offensive line, starting all 11 games at right guard in 2023. This season, Holy Cross ranked in the top 10 nationally in rushing offense (third, 264.2 yards per game), total offense (fourth, 466.6 yards per game) and scoring offense (sixth, 36.9 points per game). Since the Spring 2021 season, Hanson started 38 consecutive games at right guard for the Crusaders. In 2023, Hanson earned All-Patriot League first team honors for the second straight year, in addition to All-New England accolades. He additionally received All-America honors from Stats Perform.

Hanson and Coker helped lead the team to Patriot League titles in every season they played at Holy Cross, with the Crusaders winning a share of a league-record fifth straight Patriot League Championship in 2023.

Both are set to participate in the 2024 East-West Shrine Bowl next week, becoming the first Crusaders to participate in the Shrine Bowl since Gordie Lockbaum in 1988.
