Christian Ross receives Daniel Allen Sportsmanship Award

Senior Christian Ross, a defensive lineman on the Holy Cross football team, has been selected as the 2025-26 winner of the Daniel Allen Sportsmanship Award.

Presented by the Holy Cross Varsity Club, the Allen Award goes to the player whose unselfish teamwork and dedication to the good of the team reflect the values lived by Coach Allen. The winning student-athlete need not be a star or even a starter, but a solid performer with an outstanding attitude whose contributions are not frequently recognized. The award is designed to recognize a student-athlete who is dedicated to the good of the team, possesses integrity, and is a great teammate.

Ross served as a team captain for the Crusaders during the 2025 season, and received the team's Rick Carter Memorial Award, presented annually to the senior whose sportsmanship and dedication to the game of football represent the highest ideals of athletics.

After suffering a season-ending injury in the first drive of his collegiate career in 2022, Ross rehabbed diligently through a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus and was able to start the first game of his sophomore season at defensive end. He started every game since, totaling 100 career tackles and 12 TFLs in 35 career contests.

As a senior, Ross recorded 37 tackles, five TFLs for 18 yards lost, three sacks for 15 yards lost, one fumble recovery and one quarterback hurry.
