WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head women's soccer coach Ben Graham has announced that eight student-athletes will join the Crusaders in the fall of 2024. Caroline Bierfeldt (Rutland, Mass.), Nadia Cassamajor (Bridgewater, Mass.), Maria Cipolla (Bowie, Md.), Sydney Comeau (Pembroke, Mass.), Ava Graham (Greenville, R.I.), Megan Menard (Higganum, Conn.), Antriana Mila (Larnaca, Cyprus), Keilly Quezada (Cumberland, R.I.) and Meredith Zematis (Barkhamsted, Conn.) make up the class of 2028.
"This class will be an exciting addition to the group that we currently have and has the potential to put this group into contention for the Patriot League playoffs," said Graham. "They all provide unique characteristics that we believe will help this group grow and move forward. We cannot wait to get them on campus to see them working hard, competing within the group and exceeding the standards we set for the team. Above all, they are all fantastic human beings that will fit in with the culture of our institution and inspire everyone around them to improve their community through their service as student-athletes."
Bierfeldt is a 5'7" defender, who plays club soccer for FC Stars, where she was named First Team All-ECNL and helped the team win the ECNL Northeast Conference Regular Season Championship in 2023. Bierfeldt played three years of varsity soccer at Worcester Academy in Worcester, MA. The newcomer served as this season's team captain and helped the team to a NEPSAC playoff. She was an All-State and All-NEPSAC selection for the past two years and was named to the High School All-American Watch List. Over her varsity career, she made 55 starts, scored seven goals, and played over 4,000 minutes.
Cassamajor is a 5'3" forward, who plays club soccer for Scorpions SC where she plays alongside incoming first-year player, Ava Graham. Cassamajor has been invited to the USYNT ID Center and the ECNL National Training Camp. Top Drawer Soccer named her the 8th Ranked Player in the Northeast as well as the 56th Ranked Forward and 177th Ranked Player in the Nation 2024 Class. Cassamajor played four years of varsity soccer at Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA. She was selected as a team captain for her senior season and helped the squad to a Class A final. The Massachusetts native was a NEPSAC and ISL Honorable Mention after a strong performance in the 2023 season.
Cipolla is a 5'2" defender, who plays club soccer for Maryland United FC, where she helped the team to the ECNL playoffs and attended USYNT ID Centers in 2019 and 2020. Cipolla played four years of varsity soccer at Archbishop Spalding in Severn, MD. The Maryland native was named to the IAAM All-Conference Team this season and was an IAAM finalist.
Comeau is a 5'6" forward, who plays club soccer for the South Shore Select. She played four years of varsity soccer at Notre Dame Academy Hingham in Hingham, MA. The newcomer served as this season's team captain and led her team to win the Catholic Conference Championship and the MIAA Division II State Championship. Comeau concluded her high school career holding the most career goals in Notre Dame Academy Hingham school history with 105. Along with 105 goals, she also had 22 career assists, scoring 34 of her goals and eight of her assists in her senior season. This year Comeau was named MIAA Division II Player of the Year and was an All-New England, All-State, All-Eastern Massachusetts First Team All-Star, and Catholic Conference All-Star selection.
Graham is a 5'8" forward, who plays club soccer for Scorpions SC where she plays alongside incoming first-year player, Nadia Cassamajor. She was chosen for the ECNL Selection Game and named ECNL New England All-Regional League this season. Graham played four years of varsity soccer at Bishop Feehan in Attleboro, MA. Graham served as the team's captain this season and helped the squad to win the Central Catholic League Championship all four years. She was named First Team All-New England, All-State, and All-Eastern Massachusetts, and earned Division 1 CCL MVP. The Rhode Islander racked up 43 goals and 38 assists in her career, scoring 23 goals and 16 assists in her senior year.
Menard is a 5'8" defender, who plays club soccer for FSA FC where she plays alongside incoming first-year player, Meredith Zematis. Menard played four years of varsity soccer at Mercy High School in Middletown, CT. She was selected as this year's team captain and led the team to victory in the Southern Connecticut Division Championship all four years. The Connecticut native was selected the past three years as the All-Conference Player and helped collect two Conference Championships. Menard also helped make Mercy soccer history, bringing home two State Championship wins during her career and an undefeated 2023 season. She played 74 games for a total of 5550 minutes.
Mila is a 5'7" goalkeeper, who plays club soccer for the Apollon Ladies FC under head coach Antreas Mattheou. She helped the team to a first place finish in the Women's First Division, win the Cyprus Women's Cup and win the Cyprus Women's SuperCup in 2023-24. She is the youngest player ever to represent Cyprus at the Women's National Team level under head coach Stefanos Voskaridis. Mila is not new to the national stage playing with the U19 Cyprus National Team under head coach Sávva Sofokléous.
Quezada is a 5'5" midfielder, who plays club soccer for Bayside FC. Quezada played four years of varsity soccer at Moses Brown School in Providence, RI. She took a leadership role as team captain in her senior season where she was selected team MVP. During her high school career, she scored 20 goals and had 22 assists.
Zematis is a 5'6" goalkeeper, who plays club soccer at FSA FC where she played alongside incoming first-year player, Megan Menard. Zematis played four years of varsity soccer at Northwestern Regional 7 High School in Winsted, CT. The Connecticut native served as a team captain this season and helped her team qualify for States where they advanced to the second round. She was selected to the Berkshire League All-Conference team and chosen to play in the Senior Bowl All-Star Game. Zematis was recognized with the Coach's Award for Most Valuable Player all four years. During her career, she started every game, earning 14 shutouts, making 375 saves, and averaging 13 goals allowed per season. She posted 6 shutouts and made 185 saves in her senior season alone.
