Tighe to play for Peru National Team in FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers

Holy Cross women's soccer senior forward Allison Tighe has been named to the Peru Women's National Team and will compete in CONMEBOL qualifying matches for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. Peru will face Argentina on June 5 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, before taking on Bolivia on June 9 in Callao, Peru.

"I am so blessed and grateful to have been provided the opportunity to represent Perú and compete alongside Federación Peruana de Futbol for the upcoming 2026 World Cup Qualifiers" said Tighe. "Being selected to represent Perú, my roots, and my family is a privilege and honor that I will take with me forever. I will most definitely draw on my experience playing for College of The Holy Cross to prepare me to compete in my upcoming matches. As always Arriba Perú! Go Cross Go!"

Tighe will become the first Holy Cross women's soccer player to represent the program in FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifiers since Ang Seslija, who competed for Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2019.

"To be able to represent your country at the highest level of any sport is a remarkable achievement," said head women's soccer coach Ben Graham. "We are beyond proud of the fact that Allison's hard work and effort has been rewarded with the opportunity to represent Peru and assist in their qualification for the World Cup."

Tighe previously represented Peru at the international level as a member of the country's Under-17 and Under-20 Women's National Teams.

In three seasons at Holy Cross, Tighe has appeared in 18 total games, tallying eight shots in 309 minutes of action.

Peru's game schedule for the week is as follows (all times local):

June 5, Perú vs. Argentina, 7:00 p.m., Buenos Aires, Argentina
June 9, Bolivia vs. Peru, 7:00 p.m., Callao, Peru.
