Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Crusaders fall short at BC

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team made its way to the city for a mid-afternoon game at No. 13 Boston College. The Crusaders came up short with a 5-0 loss to the Eagles.

The Eagles (12-7-2, 11-3-2 Hockey East) took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period. BC extended their lead with three goals in the last five minutes of the second period and one more in the third period. The Eagles took the 5-0 win over the Crusaders (5-13-2, 2-10-2 Hockey East).

Senior goaltender Madison Beck totaled saves 17 in the first two periods. Sophomore goalie Brooke Loranger had eight saves in the third period.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Boston College netted a goal at 10:35 in the first period for the 1-0 lead.
  • The Eagles furthered their lead with three more goals in the second period at 14:11, 17:52 and 18:09.
  • Boston College snuck one more goal in at 15:03 in the third period for the 5–0 win

UP NEXT: 

  • The Crusaders return to action on Saturday Jan. 13 to host Merrimack for their second game of the weekend. Puck drop is set for 7pm at Hart Center Rink.
