HAMILTON, N.Y. — Freshman Thomas O'Neill finished in the individual top-10 as the Holy Cross men's golf team finished in 7th place at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial hosted by Colgate at the Seven Oaks Golf Club.
O'Neill paced all Crusaders firing a 70 and 71 on the first day of two rounds. On the final day of play he shot a 75 for a 216 (E) performance which gave him a share of 6th place.
After three rounds of the 54-hole course, the Crusaders finished with a score of 891 (+27) as a team.
COACH'S CORNER:
"Thomas O'Neill '27 played spectacular golf today with rounds of 70-71 in his first college tournament. His back-to-back sub par rounds are a significant accomplishment, perhaps the best ever for a Crusader freshman," said director of golf Steve Napoli. "Ryan Scollins '27 bounced back from a rough opening round by shooting one under par (71) in the afternoon round, Owen Egan '25 also recovered nicely in the afternoon by shooting even par (72). I'm pleased with the team's performance, everyone had at least one round that counted in the team scoring and I'm pleased to see everyone contribute."
