BOSTON, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's soccer team was defeated by Boston University 3-0 at Nickerson Field. The Crusaders fall to 3-5-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the Patriot League, while the Terriers improve to 6-2-1 on the year and 3-0-0 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Boston University opened the scoring in the 11th minute on a goal by Eitan Rosen.
• The Terriers increased their lead to 2-0 in the 16th minute when John Roman found the net.
• Colin Innes concluded the scoring for Boston University with a goal in the 21st minute.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• The Terriers finished the night with an 8-4 advantage in shots, while Holy Cross held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
• Junior goalkeeper
Tristan Stephani made two saves for the Crusaders.
THE TURNPIKE TROPHY:
• Throughout the 2023-2024 academic year, Holy Cross and Boston University will be competing for the Turnpike Trophy.
• This athletic series between the in-state Patriot League rivals awards points for all head-to-head victories in both the regular season and postseason, with the Turnpike Trophy going to the school which accumulates the most points at the end of the year.
• Following tonight's, Boston University now holds a 2-0 lead in this season's competition.
