Eli Thompson of the No. 5/6 Holy Cross football team earned weekly honors from the Patriot League, as announced on Monday, Sept. 25.
Both played key roles in a staunch defensive effort that led to a 47-7 victory over Colgate in the teams' Patriot League opener on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Dobbs was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. Dobbs earned the Turco Award as the most valuable player of the Crusaders' Homecoming game; he finished with 12 total tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks, along with two quarterback hurries.
Thompson earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in his career. He recorded two interceptions — both the first of his career — while also tallying four tackles.
The Crusaders (3-1) host Harvard on Saturday, Sept. 30 in the EBW Football Classic at Polar Park. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. Tickets start at just $15 and can be purchased through the
