MERCER, N.J. - The men's rowing varsity four finished ninth at the IRA National Championships, held at Mercer Lake on Saturday.
In Friday morning's time trial, the Crusaders finished eighth with 6:26.569. Due to the afternoon semifinals getting canceled for weather concerns, the varsity four was placed in the second final on Saturday.
Facing Washington, Harvard, Jacksonville, Brown, and Stetson, the Crusaders finished third with 7:12.989, a second behind Washington and Harvard, and five seconds ahead of fourth-place Jacksonville.
"We had a good, hard fought battle in the middle 1000 against some strong crews, finishing ninth in the country," said head coach
Jim Barr of the team's efforts. "We were proud of our effort when we crossed the finish line."
This concludes the men's rowing 2022-23 season.
