- The Crusaders quickly responded, drawing four straight walks to open the bottom of the third, with sophomore shortstop Jimmy King also scoring on a wild pitch. A fielder's choice made it a 5-2 game, and freshman catcher Lucas Manning hit a two-run single to bring the Crusaders within 5-4. Another fielder's choice tied up the game, and senior first baseman Jordan Petrushka doubled to center to drive in sophomore second baseman Connor Peek and give Holy Cross a 6-5 advantage.
- A passed ball gave Holy Cross another run and a 7-5 lead in the fifth inning.
- Brown came back to tie the game after an RBI double and groundout in the sixth. The Bears then took a 9-7 lead in the top of the seventh.
- Holy Cross evened up the score again in the bottom of the seventh thanks to an RBI single from Petrushka and an RBI double from King.
- With the game deadlocked at 9-9, Holy Cross used a four-run eighth to take control of the game. Peek drove in a pair of runs to give the Crusaders an 11-9 advantage, and two more runs scored on an error to build the lead to 13-9.
- An RBI groundout gave the Bears one more run in the top of the ninth.
