PHOENIX, Md. — Led by sophomore Nolan Schuermann, the Holy Cross men's golf team placed fourth at the 2023 Patriot League Championship Tournament from Friday, April 28 to Sunday, April 30.

Holy Cross totaled 911 (+47) to finish fourth at the Hillendale Country Club. Lehigh captured their fourth league championship and first in 10 years at 894 (+30). Colgate (900, +36) and Loyola (Md.) (902, +38) placed second and third respectively. The Crusaders fourth place showing was the best since the 1998 team tied for third place at the conference tournament.

Schuermann was awarded Patriot League Second Team honors for his performance. Schuermann was the best golfer for the Crusaders as he tied for 10th place firing a 229 (+13) three round total. Schuermann deadlocked for the team best with seven birdies.

Freshman Brian Glennon tied with classmate Matthew Williams for 12th place at 230 (+14). Glennon's 69 (-3) second round scorecard was the lowest individual round of the entire tournament. He also was the lowest scoring freshman in the field of golfers.

"Our team was resilient and played well in terrible weather conditions for golf," said Director of Golf Steve Napoli. "This was a total team effort, we received key contributions from everyone in the lineup. Seniors Christian Emmerich and Juan Suau graduate in a few weeks and I'll be forever grateful to Christian for carrying the team throughout his career at Holy Cross and to Juan for the great rounds of golf he played when we needed him the most."
