WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Christine Fabrizi tallied three goals, including the game-winner as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team defeated Lafayette 11-10 on Saturday. The Crusaders improve to 5-8 on the season and 2-3 in the Patriot League with the win, while the Leopards fall to 2-12 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

Junior Lauren Drillock tallied a game-high four points, from three goals and one assist, while senior Henna Brennan and Fabrizi posted three goals apiece. Senior Jenna Giardina, sophomore Isabela Miller andsophomore Sally Zinsner had one assist each. Lafayette was led by Clare Culligan and Genevieve Strobel with three points each.

The Crusaders opened the game with an early goal, earning their first lead of the day. Lafayette answered quickly with back-to-back goals. The first half continued with a goal-for-goal style play with each team holding a lead. The teams entered the second half with six goals apiece. The lead never went greater than one goal for either team during the back half, leading to a 10-10 score with just over a minute of play. Fabrizi put the ball over the top right shoulder of Lafayette goalie Lexie Coldiron, taking the late lead.

Junior Tori Cini picked up her fourth win of the season after coming in for the second half and making seven saves.  

Holy Cross will return to action on Saturday, April 15, when it travels to Annapolis, Md. for a 12 p.m. game with Navy.
