WEST POINT, N.Y. — The Holy Cross women's tennis team was defeated by Lafayette 4-0 at the Malek Tennis Center in the first round of the Patriot League Tournament. The Leopards improve to 6-12 overall and move on to face Boston University in the quarterfinals on Friday, while the Crusaders finish the season at 6-11.
Lafayette began the day by claiming the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. The Leopards then had wins at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5 singles to wrap up the victory. At No. 3 singles, sophomore
Jasmine Rahman led Carmen Merkel 7-5, 3-0 when play was stopped after the overall outcome had been determined.
