WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross baseball team fell in both ends of a doubleheader against Lafayette on Saturday, April 22 at Fitton Field.
GAME ONE
Lafayette 6, Holy Cross 1

THE DECISION:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After three scoreless innings, Lafayette broke through with three runs in the top of the fourth.
- The Leopards tacked on another run in the top of the fifth.
- Holy Cross loaded up the bases in the bottom of the fifth, but couldn't get any runs across.
- A sac fly and RBI double gave Lafayette a 6-0 advantage in the top of the sixth.
- The Crusaders plated a run in the bottom of the sixth after an error by the Lafayette shortstop.
- Sophomore designated hitter Sean Scanlon and freshman Jack Toomey hit back-to-back singles to begin the bottom of the seventh, but the Leopards got the next three outs to end the game.

Lafayette 6, Holy Cross 3

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lafayette took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
- Scanlon hit a one-out double in the bottom half of the inning, and advanced to third and scored after a pair of wild pitches to cut the score in half, 2-1.
- The Leopards scored a run in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings respectively to go up 5-1.
- Sophomore shortstop Jimmy King tripled to lead off the bottom of the fifth, and came home on a sacrifice fly. Scanlon then launched a solo homer to left-center fielder to make it a 5-3 contest.
- With a pair of runners on, a base hit made it a 6-3 advantage for the Leopards.

- Holy Cross is set to host Dartmouth in a non-conference contest on Tuesday, April 25.
