Roth named assistant coach of 2024 U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team

Holy Cross women's ice hockey associate head coach Meredith Roth has been named an assistant coach of the 2024 U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team, USA Hockey announced on Thursday, April. 20.

The 2024 International Ice Hockey Federation U-18 Women's World Championship will take place from Jan. 6 to 14 in Switzerland. 

Roth helped lead Team USA to a gold medal at the 2020 IIHF U-18 Women's World Championship in Bratislava, Slovakia. This will be her second stand as the team's assistant coach. As a player, she played with the Under-22 team, as well as at the IIHF World Championships in China in 2003.
 
"I am very excited to have the opportunity to be on the U-18 Women's National Team staff," Roth said. "Any time you have the chance to represent your country and work with such talented people, it is a tremendous honor.  I'm excited to work with a great staff and a group of high caliber athletes in pursuing gold in Switzerland in 2024."  

Team USA has earned a medal in every IIHF U-18 Women's World Championship they have participated in, winning eight gold, six silver and one bronze. Most recently, the team earned bronze in Östersund, Sweden in January 2023, where head coach Katie Lachapelle served as the head coach of Team USA.
