Women's hockey announces 2025-26 captains

Crovo, Moreau, Loranger and Chadwick named captains

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head women's ice hockey coach Katie Lachapelle has announced the team captains for the 2025-26 season.

Rising junior forward Emily Crovo will sport the "C" for the first time after previously serving as an assistant captain in the 2024-25 season. She will be joined by returning assistant captains, rising seniors Alexia Moreau and Brooke Loranger, as well as fellow rising junior Reghan Chadwick.

"I am extremely excited about our leadership group. Emily, Brooke, Alexia, and Reghan all bring different styles of leadership that will greatly compliment our program and each other," Lachapelle said. "They will continue to lead this program to new heights. We are excited for their leadership!"

Crovo has appeared in every one of the team's contests since stepping on the Hill, playing all 34 games of the 2024-25 season. She recorded 18 points (doubling her rookie point total) on six goals and 12 assists in her sophomore campaign. As an assistant captain, Crovo not only served in a leadership role but also led the team in assists and points and was tied for the most goals on the squad. She scored two goals in a single game twice on the season and had a career single-game high of three assists in the 6-0 win over Assumption. A 2023-24 Hockey East All-Academic Team selection, the Massachusetts native looks to step up heading into her third season on The Hill with the title of captain.

Moreau has been a constant force for the Crusaders' attack, appearing in 101 games while donning the Purple & White. She continues to drive Holy Cross as one of the team's leading scorers, tallying 24 goals and 20 assists for 44 points over her three-year career. In her junior season, she scored five goals and nine assists for 14 points while netting two power-play goals and three game-winners. The Canadian hit the game-winning goal to take down No. 10 Boston College on Dec. 6, helping Holy Cross to the first program regular season series victory over the Eagles. She is a three-time Hockey East Rookie of the Week, two-time Crusader of the Week and 2022-23 Hockey East All-Academic Team selection.

Loranger, the last line of defense for Holy Cross, has appeared in 34 career games. The netminder owns a 6-23-2 record with one career shutout and has totaled 1855:05 minutes between the pipes for the Crusaders. She has made 887 career saves for a 2.81 goals against average and a .911 save percentage. In her junior season, she had a career single-season best save percentage of .923 and made a career single-game high of 41 saves at UConn on Feb. 8.

Chadwick, new to the role, has appeared in 60 games since stepping out onto the ice as a Crusader, playing in 30 games as a sophomore. She has averaged 11 points per season and recorded six goals and five assists in her second year on The Hill. After scoring back-to-back game-winners in the Vermont series (Feb. 15-16) to lead Holy Cross to the first program regular season series sweep over the Catamounts, the Canadian was named Hockey East Co-Player of the Week.
