NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.—The Holy Cross women's track and field team claimed second place at the Merrimack Alumni Classic on Saturday. The team tallied 175 points, falling only to Merrimack with 197.5 points.

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS:

• Freshman Abby Granrath set a personal best in the 1500m with a time of 4:57.54, earning fifth. 
• In the 100m hurdles, freshman Celia Kulis placed second with a personal best time of 14.57. She was followed closely by sophomore Ella Grey at 14.67, earning third. Sophomore Jane Feeney placed fifth (15.52) and junior Lauren Clark finished sixth (15.59).
• Kulis claimed seventh in the 200m with a time of 26.71.
• Senior Kate Hoelscher set a personal record in the 400m with a time of 1:00.32, finishing sixth. Junior Lindsay Marjanski claimed a time of 1:00.88, a personal best, earning seventh.
• Senior Paige Davis collected her first collegiate win. She finished the 3k with a personal best time of 10:30.98. She was followed by sophomore Caroline Gage in the third (10:39.51) and junior Maura Doherty in fourth (10:49.64). 
• Freshman Giavanna Ciaravino earned third in the 100m dash with a time of 12.84.
• The 4x100 relay with senior Kate Ashley, Ciaravino, Grey and junior Kiley Ronan won first with a season-best time of 47.95.

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS:

• Feeney won the long jump with a personal best mark of 5.73m. Grey earned third (5.53m), senior Obiamaka Igwenagu placed fifth (5.50m) and Kulis finished eighth (5.39m).
• Igwenagu claimed first in the triple jump with a mark of 11.83m. Senior Krishiana Ramesh earned seventh (10.51m) and senior Catryn Rhoden placed eighth (10.23m).
• Three Crusaders placed in the top eight in the shot put. Junior Maura Campbell earned fifth a mark of 11.24m. Ester Mokonchu placed sixth (11.00m) and Emma McClafferty earned seventh with a personal best mark of 10.74m. 
• McClafferty earned second in the discus (35.32m), followed by Mokonchu in eighth (28.93m).
• Mclafferty placed third in the hammer throw (40.53m). She was followed by Campbell in fourth (40.46m) and Mokonchu in sixth (38.15m).
• Senior Peighton Stirt placed fifth in the javelin with a mark of 32.68m.
• Marjanski finished third in the high jump with a mark of 1.50m.
• Senior Annie Lineberger won the pole vault with a finishing mark of 3.85m, .15m higher than second place. Junior Brenna McCormick and sophomore Maura Switzer placed third at 3.40m. Freshman Sienna Moore claimed eighth with a mark of 3.25m.

NEXT UP:

• The Holy Cross women's track and field team returns to action of Saturday, April 22. The team will host the Holy Cross Invitational, for the one and only home meet of the 2023 outdoor season. 
• The Crusaders will be celebrating 50 years of Title IX excellence, the first team, and the 2023 senior class. Throughout the meet, Holy Cross will recognize a handful of returning alumni. The day will start with the alumni mile, beginning at 10 a.m.
