BALTIMORE, Md. — The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to #13 Loyola University (Md.), 15-8, in Patriot League action Saturday afternoon at the Ridley Athletic Complex.
Sophomore
Michael Bonomo led the way for the Crusaders (0-10, 0-5 PL) with two goals, his first multi-goal game of his career. Senior
Dean DiNanno added four points for the second time this season, on a goal and three assists.
Seniors
Cameron Magalotti and
Jayce Lambert, and sophomores
Henry Sheehan and
Baker Reding each added a goal each. Senior Thomas McInitire rounded out the scoring with a goal and an assist on the day,
Sophomore
Luke Shoemaker led the way for the defense with two caused turnovers while freshman
Jordan Naso picked up a team-leading six ground balls on a day that saw him go 9-14 at the 'X'. Junior goaltender
Dawson Friers recorded 17 saves on the afternoon.
Loyola (6-3, 3-1 PL) was led by Adam Poitras who recorded five points on three goals and two assists. Joey Kamish, Henry Haberman, and Will McCulloch added three points each in a game that saw 11 different Greyhounds record points. Netminders Freeman Whitaker and Max Watkinson combined for eight saves in the win.
Holy Cross will continue their road trip next Saturday, April 8, when they face Lafayette at Fisher Stadium in Easton, Pa. Game time is set for 12 p.m., and will stream live on ESPN+.
