WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross baseball team fell in both ends of a doubleheader against Army West Point on Sunday, March 26 at Fitton Field.
GAME ONE:
Army 10, Holy Cross 0

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Black Knights got on the board in the top of the third inning after back-to-back doubles.
- Aided by a three-run homer and a few wild pitches and passed balls, Army sent seven runs across home plate in the fifth inning to extend their lead to 8-0.
- Holy Cross put on a pair of runners in the bottom of the fifth after a double by sophomore designated hitter Chris Baillargeon and a walk by junior catcher Patrick Casserly, but the Crusaders could not push across any runs.
- An RBI groundout in the sixth gave Army a 9-0 lead. The Black Knights added one more run in the seventh to secure the 10-0 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Army went ahead 2-0 in the first inning with a two-run single from shortstop Kevin Dubrule.
- The Crusaders evened up the score in the bottom half of the inning after back-to-back RBI singles by Baillargeon and junior second baseman Jake McElroy.
- An RBI single and two-run base hit in the third inning gave Army a 5-2 advantage. That lead grew to 7-2 by the fifth inning.
- Army used a four-run sixth, capped by a two-run homer by Ross Friedrick, to extend the lead to 11-2. The Black Knights added two more runs in the top of the seventh for a 13-2 lead.
DUE UP:
- Holy Cross travels to Harvard on Tuesday, March 28 for a nonconference matchup.
- First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
