WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Henna Brennan and junior
Lauren Drillock both tallied two goals and one assist, but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by American 12-7 at Kuzniewski Field. The Crusaders fall to 3-7 on the season and 0-2 in the Patriot League, while the Eagles improve to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
The game was tied at 1-1 after the first four minutes of play, before American ran off seven unanswered goals to take an 8-1 advantage after one quarter of play. Holy Cross chipped away at lead for the rest of the day, eventually closing to within four goals twice in the second half (10-6 and 11-7). But that was as close as the Crusaders would get, as the Eagles held on down the stretch for the victory.
Holy Cross will return to action on Wednesday, March 29, when it travels to Boston University for a 5:00 p.m. game.
