BOSTON, Mass. — The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to #20 Boston University, 23-9, in Patriot League action Saturday afternoon at Nickerson Field.
Senior
Thomas McIntire led the way for the Crusaders (0-8, 0-3 PL) with seven points on a goal and six assists, a career high. Fellow seniors
Dean DiNanno and
Cameron Magalotti recorded two goals each. Sophomore
Henry Sheehan also recorded two goals on the afternoon.
Senior
Connor Boyle picked up his second goal of the season, while freshman
William Stahl added to his season count with a goal of his own. Junior
Matt Major rounded out the box score, picking up an assist on Sheehan's first goal of the game.
Senior
Hayes Reding had a career day on defense, causing two turnovers and picking up seven ground balls. The seven ground balls were a career high for a single game for the captain, while his two CTs tied his career high. Junior goaltender
Dawson Friers recorded 16 saves on the afternoon.
Boston University (5-1, 3-0 PL) was led by Vince D'Alto who recorded nine points on six goals and three assists. Louis Perfetto and Timmy Ley added five points each in the matchup that saw 17 different Terriers record points. Netminders Matt Garber, Will Barnes, and Mario Hemann combined for eight saves in the win.
Holy Cross will return home for their next Patriot League matchup against Navy on Saturday, March 25. Game time is set for 12 p.m. at Kuzniewski Field, and will stream live on ESPN+.
