WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to Dartmouth College, 17-6, on Saturday afternoon at Kuzniewski Field.
Senior attacker
Dean DiNanno led the way for the Crusaders (0-4, 0-0 PL) with four assists, while senior
Thomas McIntire added three goals. Junior netminder
Dawson Friers recorded 16 first-half saves, while freshman
Liam Ray recorded eight in the second half.
Dartmouth (2-0, 0-0 Ivy League) was led by Collin McGill, who recorded six points (3-2-1), while Quinn Moore added five goals. Netminder Sam Cooper made 4 saves in the win.
The Big Green carried a 12-0 lead into the halftime break. As the snow began to pick up at the start of the third, the Crusaders outscored Dartmouth 6-5 in the second half. McIntire broke the ice for the Crusaders on a strike assisted by DiNanno. DiNanno other three assists came on goals by seniors
Connor Boyle,
Cameron Magalotti, and a second goal by McIntire. In the closing 40 seconds, McIntire and freshman
Tyler Marmo picked up up-goals.
Holy Cross will stay at home next Saturday, March 4, when they host Army for their Patriot League opener at 3 p.m. The contest will also constitute as senior day.
