LOWELL, Mass. – Sophomore
Isabela Miller totaled five points on three goals and two assists, but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by UMass Lowell 12-11 at Cushing Field. The Crusaders fall to 1-2 on the season, while the River Hawks improve to 2-1 overall.

Lauren Drillock tallied two goals and two assists for Holy Cross, while sophomore

Sally Zinsner each had one goal and one assist. UMass Lowell was led by Izzy Liquori with three goals and two assists.
The Crusaders started the day by jumping out to an early 4-0 lead with 4:10 remaining in the first quarter. The River Hawks responded with four straight goals, before Holy Cross scored twice to take a 6-4 edge into halftime. Christine Fabrizi tied the game at 11-11 with 3:37 remaining. But Liquori would score the final goal of the game with just 34 seconds on the clock to give the River Hawks the win.
Holy Cross will return to action on Friday, Feb. 24, when it plays host to Stonehill at 5:30 p.m.
