LUDLOW, Mass. — Sophomore
Ahana Nagarkatti posted wins at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles to lead the Holy Cross women's tennis team to a 7-0 victory over American International College at the Ludlow Tennis Club. The Crusaders improve to 3-1 on the season with the win, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 0-7 overall.
In doubles action, Nagarkatti and freshman
Ashley Zilora opened the day with a 6-4 win over Victoria Azcona and Natalija Vlacic at the No. 1 spot. Sophomore
Caroline Carlson and sophomore
Jasmine Rahman added a 6-2 victory over Maria Cedeno and Charlotte Tvelia at No. 2 to wrap up the doubles point.
In singles play, Nagarkatti took down Vlacic 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1, while Zilora beat Azcona 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2. Rahman picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Cedeno and No. 3, and sophomore
Caroline Fredey defeated Tvelia 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4.
Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 25, when it travels to Massachusetts for a 10:45 a.m. match.
