HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Army (2-9-0, 2-6-0 Atlantic Hockey) got on the board first at the 8:27 mark of the first period, before tacking on two more goals in the second period to take a 3-0 lead going into the third.
  • Freshman Jack Stockfish cut the Black Knights' lead with a power play goal with 6:19 remaining in the frame. Junior Liam McLinskey sent a cross ice pass to sophomore Matt DeBoer above the left faceoff circle. DeBoer sent a one-time pass to an open Stockfish in the middle of the ice who unleashed a quick wrist shot past the Army netminder.
  • Senior Jack Ricketts brought the Crusaders (6-6-2, 3-6-2 Atlantic Hockey) within one with 3:26 to go, netting a 6-on-5 goal. Junior Matt Shatsky sent a shot onto the net from the blue line, finding Stockfish on the left post who bumped the puck to Ricketts.
