KINGSTON, R.I. – The Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team finished in fifth place at the Harold Anderson Invitational hosted by Rhode Island in the Tootell Aquatic Center.
The Crusaders totaled 507 points over the three day invite. Vermont (849) captured first place while host Rhode Island (752) and Wagner (529) rounded out the top three.
Sophomore
Ainsley Nalen established a new program record in the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:01.11 time which was good enough for second place.
Newcomer
Devin Brindle placed third in the 100-yard freestyle at 52.04. Senior
Greta Walting finished fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.97) while freshman
Megan Nelson was fifth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.95).
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Brindle, sophomore
Nora Smillie, senior
Ayden Chanin and Nalen hit the wall third at 3:23.23.
Holy Cross hosts Boston University in a Patriot League bout on Saturday, Dec. 2 at noon.
