ROCK HILL, S.C. – Senior guard Joe Octave scored 22 points to lead the Holy Cross men's basketball team to a 74-61 victory over IUPUI in the Rock Hill Invitational at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center. The Crusaders improve to 2-4 overall, while the Jaguars fall to 2-4 on the year.
 
 HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The game was close early on, with Holy Cross holding an 18-17 edge after the first 11 minutes of action. 
• The Crusaders then scored seven straight points to extend their lead, eventually going up by 10 (34-24) with 1:22 left before the break.
• Holy Cross went on to take a 36-28 advantage into the locker room.
• The Crusaders began the second half with a 10-4 spurt to go in front by 14 (46-32) with 17:08 remaining.
• But IUPUI responded with a 12-2 run to trim the deficit to four (48-44) and get back into the game.
• Holy Cross was still up by just six (57-51) with seven minutes to go, before scoring the next seven points to regain control.
• The Crusader lead would stay in double figures the rest of the way, with the final margin being 13 points.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Holy Cross hit 49.1 percent of its field goal attempts, 38.5 percent of its three-pointers and 76.9 percent of its free throws on the day, while committing just nine turnovers.
• The Jaguars were able to connect on 46.2 percent of their shots from the floor, 68.8 percent of their foul shots and 16.7 percent of their attempts from three-point range.
• Senior guard Bo Montgomery finished the afternoon with 12 points, five assists and three rebounds, while freshman guard DeAndre Williams added 10 points, three rebounds and two assists.
• Bryce Monroe led IUPUI with 15 points.
