WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team earned their first home victory this season, a 172-128 win in the Hart Center Pool against Maine Saturday afternoon.
The win levels the Crusader record at 2-2 while the Black Bears slide to 1-2. The victory was the third straight for Holy Cross against Maine.
The women captured victories in 13 of 16 events in the dual meet. The 200-yard butterfly finish was huge for the team with sophomore
Sabrina Conrad (2:11.19) and freshman
Megan Nelson (2:11.88) hitting the wall first and second respectively for 13 total points.
Sophomore
Ainsley Nalen earned four first place showings as well as freshman
Courtney Boghosian. Nalen had individual first place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.91), the 500-yard freestyle (5:15.34) and was a part of the 200-yard medley relay team (1:48.47) and the 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:35.78). Boghosian participated in both of those relay events and competed as an individual in the 100-yard backstroke (59.99) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:07.09).
In the diving events, junior
Ciara Scamby scored a 251.78 for first place in the one-meter dive and nine points to the team total.
Holy Cross will compete in the three day Harold Anderson Invitational hosted by Rhode Island starting on Nov. 17 and concluding on Nov. 19.
