BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior midfielder
Jonathan Klein scored his second goal of the season, but the Holy Cross men's soccer team was defeated by Lehigh 2-1 at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The Crusaders fall to 5-9-3 overall and 2-4-2 in the Patriot League, while the Mountain Hawks improve 3-9-5 on the year and 2-4-2 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The game was scoreless until the 50th minute, when Klein knocked home a pass from senior midfielder
Evan Walker from 14 yards out in the left side of the box.
• Lehigh tied up the score at 1-1 in the 57th minute, as Perry Kingson headed in a cross by Beckett Wenger.
• Athanasios Cosse then scored the game winner for the Mountain Hawks when he put in a rebound in the 79th minute.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• The Crusaders finished the game with a 16-4 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
• Klein now ranks third on the team in scoring with seven points on two goals and three assists.
NEXT UP:
• Holy Cross returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 1, when it plays host to Colgate in its regular season finale at 6 p.m.
