WORCESTER, Mass. – Colgate's Alejandro Coury scored the only goal of the night, as the Raiders posted a 1-0 victory over the Holy Cross men's soccer team at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium. The Crusaders conclude the season with an overall mark of 5-10-3 overall and a 2-5-2 record in the Patriot League, while Colgate improves 7-9-2 on the year and 4-3-2 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• In the 23rd minute, the scoring play began when the Raiders' Mason Pahule played the ball to Cason Stafford in the right side of the penalty box.
• Stafford then sent a cross to Coury, who headed it into the net from six yards out.
• Holy Cross had several good scoring chances of its own throughout the night, but was unable to convert as Colgate pulled out the one-goal victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• The Crusaders finished the game with a 12-7 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
• Junior goalkeeper
Tristan Stephani made two saves for Holy Cross, while Oliver Townend had three saves for the Raiders.
