ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Junior goalkeeper
Tristan Stephani posted a shutout with three saves, as the Holy Cross men's soccer team played Navy to a 0-0 tie at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility. The Crusaders move to 5-8-3 overall and 2-3-2 in the Patriot League, while the Midshipmen now stand 5-6-4 on the year and 2-2-3 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Stephani made two of his saves in the second half, as the Holy Cross defense was able to hold Navy at bay throughout the evening.
• The Crusaders had several good scoring chances of their own, including a shot by junior midfielder
Ivor Teagle in the 51st minute that went off the post.
• But neither team was able to break through onto the scoreboard and the game ended in a draw.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Stephani's shutout was his fourth of the season.
• The Midshipmen finished the game with a 17-10 advantage in shots, while the Crusaders held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
NEXT UP:
• Holy Cross returns to action next Saturday, Oct. 28, when it travels to Lehigh for a 6 p.m. game.
