WORCESTER, Mass. — Holy Cross men's ice hockey seniors Jack Ricketts and Jason Grande have been named the Atlantic Hockey Association Player and Goaltender of the Week, respectively, the league offices announced Monday afternoon.
 
Grande allowed just one goal, over the two-game set against No. 20 UConn this weekend. The one goal for UConn, a power play tally, came in the first four minutes of the second period. Following that goal, Grande recorded 18 saves through the remainder of the game. On Saturday, Grande recorded 28 saves and his first shutout of the season. This is Grande's third career weekly award, and first of the season.
 
Ricketts picked up his first two goals of the season this weekend, won seven faceoffs, and finished the series with a +2 rating. In the first game of the series, Ricketts recorded the game-winning goal, a shorthanded strike, at the 13:28 mark of the third period to bring the score to 2-1. On night two, Ricketts beat out an icing with exactly one minute remaining to tap in an empty net goal, extending the Crusaders' lead to 2-0. Ricketts also led a penalty kill unit that held the Huskies to a one-for-eight conversion rate. This is Ricketts' third career weekly award, and second of the season.

The Crusaders (3-0-0, 0-0-0 AHA) will travel to Robert Morris to open their Atlantic Hockey slate on Friday, Oct. 20 and Saturday, Oct. 21. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, and 5 p.m. on Saturday.
