HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Holy Cross men's soccer team was defeated by Colgate 2-0 at Beyer-Small Field. The Crusaders fall to 4-6-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the Patriot League, while the Raiders improve to 5-2-2 on the year and 2-0-1 in the conference.
Colgate opened the scoring in the 59th minute, when Alejandro Coury scored on a direct free kick from 24 yards out above the top right side of the penalty box. The Raiders then made the score 2-0 in the 83rd minute, as Antonio Ducrot put in a rebound after a shot by Mason Pahule was saved.
Colgate finished the game with a 17-6 advantage in shots, while each team attempted three corner kicks.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Josh Tubbs made four saves for the Crusaders, while Andrew Cooke had two saves for the Raiders.
Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1, when it travels to Lehigh for a 6:00 p.m. game.
