WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior kicker
Derek Ng has been named the Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week, the league offices announced on Monday, Sept. 12. This is the first time this season and seventh time in his career that Ng has received top player honors.
Ng had a perfect performance (1-for-1 field goals, 4-for-4 PAT) Saturday night in a thrilling 37-31 upset at FBS opponent Buffalo. The Las Vegas native drilled a go-ahead 28-yard field goal that gave the Crusaders their first lead, 31-28, with 7:12 left in the game.Â
On the season, Ng has converted 4-of-5 (80.0%) field goal attempts and 6-of-7 (85.7%) extra point chances.Â
Holy Cross will be back in action on Saturday, September 17 at 2 p.m. when it squares off against nonconference opponent Yale.
