WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell, 21-11, to Lafayette on Saturday, April 9 at Kuzniewski Field.
Junior attack Thomas McIntire led the day for the Crusaders (0-10, 0-6 PL) with four goals. Sophomore goaltender
Dawson Friers posted 20 saves on the day.
Kalman Kraham notched five goals and one assist to lead the Leopards (4-8, 1-5 PL) to victory. Goaltender Gabe Cummins made eight saves in the contest.
Before the start of the game, the team held a ceremony to honor the program's seven seniors.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Coming out of the first quarter, the two teams were tied at 4-4.
- During the second quarter, the Leopards brought the score to 9-7.
- In the third quarter, Lafayette went on a six-goal scoring streak until sophomore attack Matt Major netted a goal with an assist from junior midfielder T.J. Lynch.
- Freshman attack John Mitchell concluded the game with an unassisted goal for the Crusaders.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- The two teams tied in caused turnovers in the matchup with six.
- Lafayette outshout Holy Cross 31-20.
UP NEXT:
- Holy Cross will hit the road for a game against Bucknell on Sunday, April 17 at noon.
