W: Remley (1-4)
L: Chappell (0-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Freshman designated hitter Sean Scanlon hit a two-out double in the first, and scored after senior first baseman Nate Wolf dropped an RBI single into right field to give the Crusaders a 1-0 lead.
  • The Crusaders went ahead 2-0 in the second inning when a groundout and a misthrow by the Big Green to home plate allowed freshman center fielder Tyler Mudd to score.
  • Mudd led off the sixth with an infield single, and advanced to second after a single by freshman second baseman Connor Peek. A sacrifice bunt pushed the runners ahead, and Mudd scored on a sac fly by sophomore shortstop Sam Kirkpatrick to make it a 3-0 advantage for the Crusaders.
  • Remley, Walters and Sutman shut out the Big Green through the first eight innings. Justin Murray hit a home run to lead off the bottom of the ninth and spoil the shutout for Holy Cross' staff, but Sutman secured two flyouts and a pop-up to keep Dartmouth off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • Holy Cross has allowed just five total runs over its last four games, holding its opponents to just one run in three of those four contests.
DUE UP:
  • The Crusaders head to Lehigh for a key Patriot League series on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1.
  • Saturday's doubleheader is set to get underway at 12 p.m. in Bethlehem, Pa., with a single game set for 12 p.m. on Sunday.
