Jolie Creo and freshman
Isabela Miller both scored six goals as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team downed Long Island 15-11 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium. The Crusaders improve to 2-4 on the season with the win, while the Sharks fall to 0-7 overall.
Holy Cross opened the game by scoring eight straight goals in the first 24 minutes of action. Miller netted four goals during that time, while Creo tallied two goals and two assists. The Crusaders eventually led 8-1 the break.
Long Island opened the third quarter with a 4-1 spurt, before Creo scored the next two goals to put Holy Cross back up by six (11-5). The Crusaders later led 13-7 early in the fourth quarter, when the Sharks ran off four straight goals to make the score 13-11 with 2:58 left to play. But Creo responded once again with two quick goals to secure the win for Holy Cross.

Jordyn Arakelian recorded three assists.
The Crusaders will return to action on Saturday, March 12, when they travel to Merrimack for a 1:00 p.m. game.

• Miller's six goals set a new career high, and were the most by a Holy Cross freshman in a single game since Laura Ryan scored six goals against Bucknell on April 7, 2012.
