WEST POINT, N.Y.. — The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell, 14-8, to Army on Sunday, March 6 at Michie Stadium.

Tim O'Callaghan led the day in goals for the Crusaders (0-5, 0-1 PL) with two each. Sophomore goaltender
Dawson Friers made 18 saves in the contest.
Paul Johnson made two goals and two assists to lead the Black Knights (5-1, 0-1 PL) to victory. Goaltender Wyatt Schupler made 13 saves on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior attack Dean DiNanno netted the first goal of the day just 20 seconds into the contest.
- Army's Johnson tied up the score shortly thereafter to make the score, 1-1.
- With 4:04 remaining in the first period, O'Callaghan scored his first goal of the day to make the score 2-1 in favor of Holy Cross.
- At 12:22 of the first period, Lambert recorded his first goal of the day to bring the Crusaders up by one again, 3-2.
- After a scoreless second period, junior midfielder Cameron Magalotti fired a shot past Schupler to end the Crusaders' scoring drought, bringing the score to 7-4 in favor of the Black Knights.
- Sophomore attack Cole Kratovil scored at 2:06 of the third period to give the Crusaders their fifth goal of the day.
- After allowing Army to go on a five-goal scoring run, O'Callaghan notched his second goal of the day with an assist from Kratovil to make the score 12-6.
- With 10:55 remaining in the contest, Lambert capitalized on a man-up opportunity from DiNanno to bring the score to 12-7.
- Major rounded out the day with a man-up goal from DiNanno at 11:21 to make the final score of 14-8, Black Knights.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- DiNanno led the day in shots on goal for both teams with 11 in total.
- Sophomore face-off specialist Connor DePiero won 16 of the 26 faceoffs.
- Army held the slight edge in shots over Holy Cross, 47-44.
- The Crusaders were awarded three man-up opportunities in the matchup, and they scored in two of the three.
- The two teams were even in caused turnovers in the game with eight each.
