Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Creo scores 100th career goal, Holy Cross edged by Bryant

WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Jolie Creo totaled seven points on four goals and three assists, but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by Bryant 15-14 at Kuzniewski Field. The Crusaders fall to 1-4 on the season, while the Bulldogs improve to 2-1 overall.

Creo's fourth goal of the game, which tied the score at 14-14 with 3:10 left in the fourth quarter, was the 100th of her Holy Cross career. She becomes just the 11th player in program history to score 100 career goals.

Bryant opened the game with an early 4-1 lead, before the Crusaders ran off five straight goals to take a 6-4 edge early in the second quarter. Senior Jordyn Arakelian netted two goals during that spurt. Holy Cross would eventually hold an 8-7 advantage at halftime.

The game stayed close throughout the third quarter and was tied at 11-11 early in the fourth before back-to-back goals by junior Jenna Giardina and junior Henna Brennan gave the Crusaders a 13-11 edge. After the Bulldogs scored three straight goals to pull ahead, Creo's score with 3:10 remaining tied the game at 14-14. But Skylar Simmonds scored with 2:13 on the clock to put Bryant up 15-14, and neither team would score again as the Bulldogs held on for the win.

Arakelian finished the day with a career-high five points on three goals and two assists. Freshman Ella Kittredge added two goals, while senior Grace Flink made 12 saves in goal. Bryant was led by Kenna Kaut with four goals and one assist.

Holy Cross will return to action on Tuesday, March 8, when it travels to Long Island for a 1:00 p.m. game.
