Alexander Ruenhorst all won matches in both singles and doubles action to lead the Holy Cross men's tennis team to a 4-2 victory over Lafayette at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center. The Crusaders improve to 2-9 on the season, while the Leopards fall to 2-10 overall.
Holy Cross opened the afternoon by sweeping the doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. At No. 1 doubles, O'Flynn and freshman
Diego Tran Rosado posted a 6-3 victory over Arman Ganchi and Luke Ritchie. Sophomore
William Kelleher and sophomore
Connor Nelson followed with a 7-5 win over Nash Lovallo and Josh Wolfe at the No. 2 spot, while Clark and Ruenhorst had a 6-4 victory over Ross Coleman and Charles Keller at No. 3.
The Crusaders then picked up three convincing wins in singles action to take the match. Ruenhorst won the first set 6-0 over Keller at No. 4 before his opponent retired due to injury. Clark added a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Ritchie at No. 5, while O'Flynn won 6-0, 6-0 over Coleman at No. 6.
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, April 2, when they play host to Merrimack at 3:00 p.m.
