WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross men's tennis team was defeated by Colgate 6-1 in its first Patriot League match of the season at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility. The Crusaders fall to 1-7 on the season, while the Raiders improve to 6-5 overall.
Holy Cross began the day by taking two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. Sophomore
William Kelleher and sophomore
Connor Nelson earned a 6-4 victory over Nick Potter and Rohan Gupta at No. 2 doubles, while freshman
Jeremy Clark and senior
Alexander Ruenhorst won 6-2 over Mike Thomas and Josh Israel at the No. 3 spot. But Colgate came back to win all six single matches to earn the overall victory.
Holy Cross returns to action on Friday, March 25, when they head to Army for a 5:00 p.m. match.
