Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Radomsky leads men's hockey to shutout victory vs. Sacred Heart

WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior goaltender Matt Radomsky recorded a 33-save shutout and sophomore right wing Alec Cicero scored the game-winning goal in the third period as the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team defeated Sacred Heart, 1-0, on Friday, Feb. 4 at the Hart Center Rink.

The Pioneers (10-14-3, 7-10-2 AHA) outshot the Crusaders (8-18-2, 6-11-2 AHA) by a 33-22 margin, but Radomsky came up big, turning away every shot he faced, including 12 third-period shots.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Holy Cross and Sacred Heart skated to two scoreless periods to open the game.
  • The contest remained stuck in a 0-0 deadlock until midway through the third period. Junior center Alex Peterson won a faceoff and chipped the puck to Cicero, who snapped one home to put Holy Cross on the board at 12:10 of the frame.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • Radomsky's shutout was his first of the season – the third of his career – and the first by a Crusader this year.
  • Cicero now has 10 points on the year, becoming the seventh Crusader to record double-figure points this season.
UP NEXT:
  • The Crusaders and Pioneers round out the weekend series on Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Hart Center Rink.
  • Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m.
