The Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team broke a total of four program records at the 2022 Patriot League Championship hosted by the United States Naval Academy.
As a team, the Crusaders placed ninth totaling 146 points across the four days of competition. Navy won their 20th overall conference championship and 10th in a row accumulating 973.50 points. Bucknell (577.50) jumped from third place Thursday into second place Friday and held off Army West Point (570) for the second slot.
Katy Saladin shattered the lone record on the day for the Crusaders in the 200-yard backstroke tallying a 2:03.68 time in the preliminaries bettering her own previous mark.
Senior
Gillian Giangrande competed in the 200-yard back race and turned in a 2:08.35 finals time.
Junior
Anna Turner took part in the 1,650-yard freestyle and completed the event in 17:21.65. In the 100-yard freestyle, sophomore
Ayden Chanin hit the wall at 51.61.
Greta Walting finished ninth in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:20.05.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of junior
Rowan Burgess, junior
Fiona Walsh, Walting, and Chanin had a 3:30.35 showing.
In the three meter diving event, junior
Abby Bryant earned a 225.60 score.
