ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell, 20-3, to Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 19 at the U-M Lacrosse Stadium.
Senior midfielder
Kilian Morrissey tallied two goals on the day for the Crusaders (0-3).
Josh Zawada had four goals and two assists to lead the Wolverines (3-0). Jake Bonomi scored three goals and earned two assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Michigan went on a 12-goal scoring streak that extended until the third quarter.
- With 6:54 remaining in the third, junior attack Jayce Lambert capitalized on a man-up opportunity and scored the first goal for the Crusaders with an assist from T.J. Lynch.
- Morrissey scored Holy Cross' second goal with an assist from sophomore attack Cole Kratovil, bringing the score to 15-2.
- Later in the fourth, Morrissey scored an unassisted goal to bring the score to 18-3.
- Michigan then scored two more goals before the timer ran out to bring their total to 20.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- Senior goaltender A.J. Fox made 12 saves in the contest, while Michigan's Shane Carr recorded eight.
- Michigan held the 15-12 edge in faceoff wins.
