ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Holy Cross sophomore
Charlie Nascimben set a new record in the 100-yard breaststroke during the third day of the 2022 Patriot League swimming and diving championships at the United States Naval Academy Friday.
As a team, the Crusaders are in ninth place with 85 points. Navy (643.5) has a substantial edge over Army West Point (517) for second place and Bucknell remains in third at 394.
Nascimben had a 56.60 time in the preliminary round besting the prior mark of 57.43 set by Brian Power in 2013 at the league championship.
Nascimben was also part of the 200-yard freestyle relay grouping with freshman
Rory Hess, senior
Michael Brennan and freshman
Patrick Walsh who finished the event in 1:26.29.
In the diving event, sophomore
Chris Clow tallied a 190.40 showing.
The Crusaders campaign concludes tomorrow with the final day of competition.
