WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team fell to Army 3-1 on Friday, Feb. 18 at the Hart Center Rink.
Senior defender
Matt Slick scored the lone goal of the evening for the Crusaders (10-21-2, 8-14-2 AHA). Holy Cross junior goaltender
Matt Radomsky made 20 saves in net.
Colin Bilek recorded two goals to lead the Black Knights (14-14-3, 12-10-2 AHA). Goaltender Gavin Abric made 36 saves on the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bilek found the back of the net at 14:12 of the first period to begin the lead for the Black Knights
- At 1:19 of the second period, Hunter McCoy tacked on another goal for Army, bringing the score to 2-0.
- Slick scored his goal at 16:21 of the second period with assists from senior right wing Anthony Vincent and junior center Alex Peterson to bring the score within one point.
- Bilek scored his second goal of the game on a power-play opportunity at 1:14 of the third period to bring Army's total to three goals.
- In an attempt to even the score by adding an extra skater, Holy Cross pulled Radomsky out of the net with 4:43 remaining in the game.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Holy Cross consistently outshot Army in the series. The Crusaders went 40-23 the first night and 37-23 the second night in shots.
- Bilek earned two points for Army in both contests.
- Army held the lead in faceoffs, 44-23.
UP NEXT:
- Holy Cross will return to action at Bentley for a home and home series on Friday, Feb. 25, and Saturday, Feb. 26.
- On Saturday, Feb. 26, the Crusaders will hold Senior Night to honor the program's five seniors.
